Hello readers!  For those of you who don't already know, I attended GP San Diego last weekend.  I didn't play in any events because, well, most formats of Magic honestly bore me at this point.  I did do some nice collecting and, more importantly, I learned how to trade.

Before we get into that however, I should provide a little background.  My local game shop (Southern California Games and Comics) invited me last month to help out at the San Diego Comic Con.  I have always wanted to see this now famous Con, so I instantly replied yes.  I spent the weekend working a booth and selling products, especially magic cards.  I thoroughly enjoyed being on the other side of the booth for once, and I was invited to help out at the next event.

Thus, when the opportunity presented itself to work GP San Diego, I jumped on it.  Unfortunately, this time the store wasn't getting a booth.  Instead, I was given a binder full of Magic cards and asked to go around the room trading such cards "for value," which essentially means, I just have to make a profit on the trades.  I would be paid a commission based on the total profit for the weekend.  I had a lot of fun and I learned a lot about trading in the process, and I even developed some social skills since I had to walk up to total strangers and engage in conversation.

Anyway, for those of you Portlandians (Portlanders?) who I saw at the GP, it was really nice to see you again.  Miss you guys!  Hope to see you all again soon at the next GP.
