The goal of this deck is to activate Daretti's ultimate (-10) ability as soon as possible. To accomplish this goal, I have included Contagion Engine, Contagion Clasp, Throne of Geth, and The Chain Veil.

Obviously, a large amount of mana ramp also helps to activate Daretti's ultimate quickly (by allowing you to cast Daretti as early as possible). Thus, I have included a large number of ramp spells and lands: Sol Ring, Prismatic Lens, Grim Monolith, Darksteel Ingot, Basalt Monolith, Ancient Tomb, Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, Fire Diamond, Ruby Medallion, Mind Stone, Commander's Sphere, Unstable Obelisk, Everflowing Chalice, Mox Opal and Coldsteel Heart. I recently cut Guardian Idol and I am currently debating about whether to remove Heart of Ramos. I've also been considering cutting Everflowing Chalice because although it synergizes with the proliferate spells mentioned above, it sucks when Everflowing Chalice enters the battlefield from the graveyard with no counters on it.

Daretti is a planeswalker so he needs to be protected in order to achieve his ultimate. Thus I have included a lot of creature removal/control:  Pyroclasm,  Whipflare, Blasphemous Act, Rolling Earthquake, Starstorm, Maze of Ith, Ensnaring Bridge, All is Dust, Staff of Domination, Duplicant, Meekstone, Spine of Ish Sah, Obliterate, Devastation, Jokulhaups, and Nevinyral's Disk. It is notable that these last four "wrath" spells do not affect planeswalkers Thus, these spells will clear the board while leaving Daretti alive.

Rings of Brighthearth is included because it can duplicate a Daretti ability, but also because it combines well with Basalt Monolith and Grim Monolith to create infinite mana.

Notes Regarding Cards I Have Not Included:

I recently cut Bazaar of Baghdad from the deck because the card disadvantage was just too severe.

Also missing is Mishra's Workshop. I currently only possess one copy and it's within another deck. However, if I had another Workshop I'd obviously include it.

I have too many utility lands so I don't run Blood Moon or Magus of the Moon.

I cut Sensei's Divining Top because there aren't a lot of shuffle effects in this deck and because you never want to sacrifice the Top to Daretti.

I also took out Gamble. I generally dislike card disadvantage and although Gamble can fetch a "tucked" Daretti out of your deck, I found that it most situations it's just not that great. You often have only 2-3 cards in your hand and the odds of being forced to discard the tutored card are sometimes 25-50%. I'd rather have another control card. I also took out most of the other red tutors: Imperial Recruiter and Goblin Matron. The only viable target was Goblin Welder, and although the Welder is bonkers in this deck, I couldn't justify a tutor with only one real target.

I took out the "janky" cards people sometimes play in Daretti deck like Squee, Goblin Nabob, Anger (why do I need haste?), Soul of New Phyrexia, Sculpting Steel, Mirrorworks, Grinning Totem, and Ugin's Nexus. The latter card is the only cut I regret, since Ugin's Nexus can actually help reach Daretti's ultimate.

If I need another good sweeper, then Rough//Tumble is good. Decree of Annihilation and Apocalyse are bad (they exile my artifacts).

So there it is: A finely tuned mono-red EDH deck. I now have a monocolored control deck in every color but Green. Comments are appreciated!
